There are many techniques that you can follow and supplements that you can take for the detoxification process. One of them is eating food to help detoxify. The following is a list of 4 foods to help with the detox process.
1. Green Vegetables
Fill your refrigerator with green vegetables, such as wheatgrass, kale, spinach, spirulina, arugula, and other green vegetables to detoxify your digestive tract with chlorophyll. Chlorophyll can prevent the body from harm due to toxins, herbicides, cleaning products, and pesticides. They also help the liver in the detoxification process.
2. Lemon
Start your day by filling the kettle with some lemon, ice, and squeezed water. Drinking lemon juice gives you extra vitamin C – plus potassium, magnesium and copper – and helps you absorb more nutrients such as iron and calcium from other foods you eat. Orange water stimulates the liver and secretes toxins because it acts as a mild diuretic, which can also help you get rid of excess water.
3. Green Tea/Matcha
Among its many benefits, matcha green tea is known as a strong anti-carcinogen, and it also helps you reduce fat. Epigallocatechin (EGCG) is a component found in leaves used to make matcha which can convert fat into fuel in the bloodstream through a process called thermogenesis. This process helps you lose weight, especially when you add caffeine to matcha; this has three times more than ordinary green tea. Matcha detoxic ability is due to the very high amount of chlorophyll, which helps cleanse the body and remove toxins from the liver.
4. Seaweed
Seaweed is one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables, high in antioxidants and offers a variety of phytochemicals such as polyphenols and fucoxanthin. Seaweed such as dulse, wakame, nori, and kombu are ancient sources of food for people living in the sea; they are also popular in traditional Chinese medicine to treat everything from urinary tract infections to tumors. Recently, research on Asian women found the incidence of low breast cancer in women who ate lots of seaweed. The strong nutrition of seaweed can help detoxify the blood and kidneys and has diuretic properties to help remove excess water while increasing your immunity.
There is no way to completely avoid all toxins. There are too many sources of toxins, such as contaminants in food and water, junk food, stress, smoke, cigarette smoke, vehicle emissions, pesticides, and pollution. Eating foods that support detoxification is one of the best ways to maintain overall health.
