Articles 18 Okt 2017

Oatlovers, what kind of books do you keep piling in your bookcase? Although the technology presents us with e-books which allows us to read anywhere, physical books may never replace e-books. Out of all the piled books in your bookcase, are there any literary or poetry books?

Today on March 21 the World celebrates World Poetry Day. UNESCO revealed that we as humans have aesthetic needs and poetry can fulfill this need. Not only that, UNESCO noticed that in the last 20 years the interest for poetry has increased. There are many activities involving poetry in many countries and the numbers of poets are increasing.
World Poetry Day was first celebrated in the year 2000. Not only that, it is the same day as the Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is a good thing.

Every year, the Director General of UNESCO will provide a series of messages with the commemoration of the Poetry Day of the Republic of Indonesia. His message for the 2016 Poetry Day, Irina Bokova reveals that Poetry is a symbol of the creativity of the human soul. Poetry improves the soul of humanity, enhances the strength, solidarity and also self-awareness.

Usually people tend to find poets to be boring and difficult to understand but maybe Oatlovers won’t think of them as boring. So which one do you stand for and why Oatlovers? #EverdayIsHealthy
