Packing Tips for Travelers

Articles 23 Nov 2017

Packing is the most essential thing when you travel. Imagine that you forgot to bring the most important things and you’re left disappointed and scrambling to find the nearest store in your destination. Too much baggage and you end up with heavy baggage and you have to pay for the extra baggage. To avoid those kind of things, you can try these tips to packing.

1. Make a packing list.

Avoid packing pitfalls by only bringing items that have an 80 percent minimum chance of being used—but be sure to plan before you pack. Start your packing process days or even weeks ahead of your departure date. Creating a packing list is a fail-safe way to ensure that you never, ever forget to bring something important.

2. Roll, don’t fold.

Many traver experts said that rolled clothes take up less space than folded ones. Plus, they’re less prone to getting deep wrinkles from fold creases.

3. Wash your clothes on the road

If you know your accommodations will have free laundry facilities, you can do it there. If you’re staying in a hotel, call in advance to see if laundry services are available and how much they cost. Travelers staying in properties without laundry facilities or taking cruises, you can wash clothes in sinks and hang them to dry.

4. Don’t bring your toiletries.

Leave some of your toiletries behind and use the soaps and lotions provided by the hotel. The one thing people tend to forget is that there are stores where you’re going and you can always buy those items once you get there.
