Do Oatlovers like yogurt? If yes, continue eating these foods. Apart from its thick, soft texture and delicious sour taste, yogurt also provides excellent nutritional benefits for health. Yogurt is a processed product made from fermented milk. During this time, yogurt is known as a food source that is high in probiotics and good bacteria that help smooth digestion.

Probiotics are good bacteria that can help digestive problems such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating and reduce gas causing farts. Consuming these good bacteria also makes the body of Oatlovers able to absorb minerals and other contents more optimally.

Yogurt contains animal protein, which is about 1.5 grams of protein per ounce of yogurt. In addition, there are also various vitamins and minerals that are known to be found in milk, such as calcium, vitamins B2, B12, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. There are also some yogurt added with vitamin D. The slightly acidic taste makes yogurt quite popular with many people. The choice of taste is also now diverse, there are flavors of oranges, blueberries, strawberries, and so on. Yogurt is now very popular among the people, both in children and adults.  However, did Oatlovers know that there are still many other health benefits of yogurt like the following

Maintain Bones & Prevent Osteoporosis

In general, yogurt is rich in calcium content needed for healthy bones and teeth. Well, consumption of yogurt can help Oatlovers prevent osteoporosis. The reason is, yogurt contains a combination of calcium and vitamin D which is useful for strengthening bones.

Meanwhile, vitamin D can help the body of Oatlovers to absorb calcium better. These nutrients are micronutrients that play an important role in bone growth. Researchers from Marmara University found that eating yogurt will not erode tooth enamel. In addition, lactic acid in yogurt also serves to protect your gums from infection.

Research also shows that older people who regularly consume yogurt have better bone density and strength than those who don’t.

Helps the Digestive System

Because it contains probiotics that are good for digestion, yogurt is believed to help overcome digestive disorders. Good bacteria are actually already present in the human digestive system. Consuming yogurt is thought to make positive changes in good bacteria in the intestine. As a result, problems such as constipation, diarrhea, intestinal inflammation, and lactose intolerance can be overcome.

People who experience lactose intolerance due to some allergies, can safely enjoy and benefit from yogurt. Because yogurt is easier to digest than milk. Active cultures that live in yogurt create lactase, which will help increase lactose absorption in intolerant people.

Strengthening the Immune System

Yogurt is claimed to be able to maintain health by strengthening the immune system. This effect is obtained from the content of magnesium, selenium and zinc in yogurt which can strengthen the immune system.

Rows of minerals and essential nutrients in yogurt help increase the production of T cells, one of the white blood cells in the body responsible for fighting disease. Just eat at least 400 grams of yogurt every day to strengthen your immune system and help fight infections and bacteria.

Helps Lose Weight

The benefits of yogurt, especially in maintaining weight, are able to make the stomach feel full for a longer time. Eating yogurt can delay hunger longer than other snacks. Therefore, yogurt can be a good food choice for Oatlovers who are on a diet.

Yogurt is often asked as a healthy snack that will not make you fat. This is because the combination of its probiotic, protein, and calcium content triggers the production of antilatar hormones, such as GLP-1 and YY peptide. That’s the reason Oatlovers can get full faster after eating yogurt, so it won’t be tempted to eat again until the next meal. Choose greek yogurt  which is proven to be more dense in protein content.

Lowering Blood Pressure

Research shows that yogurt can help reduce high blood pressure, especially for women. The benefits of this yogurt come from the potassium content that can rinse excess sodium from the body. Sodium is a mineral that plays a role in increasing blood pressure, which is found in foods that contain high salt.

Based on data from the American Heart Association, women who consume yogurt more than five times a week, especially if coupled with a diet will get a higher risk of high blood pressure by up to 20 percent. Yogurt with a lower sugar content will give better results.
